Organised annually by Microsoft's Xbox division, Developer_Direct held its 2025 online watchable event where fans could preview the most anticipated games that are due for release this year on Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms. At Developer_Direct, developers showcase their games in person: you can get a behind-the-scenes look at who's developing the game, hear their interpretation of what you need to know before launch, and see it in motion.
In Developer_Direct 2025, fans virtually visit Compulsion Games in Montreal, Canada to learn more about South of Midnight, head to Montpellier, France to see Sandfall Interactive for a look at Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, stop by the legendary id Studios in Richardson, Texas to check in on DOOM: The Dark Ages, and visit Tokyo, Japan to to experience that certain Far East Asian feel with a touch of ninja brutality that is Ninja Gaiden 4 and Ninja Gaiden 2 Black.
The event, available to watch online, took place on Thursday 23 January 2025 at 6pm (UK time).

[2025-01-15]: #RUMOR A rumor has been circulating on Reddit that eXtas1s has speculated in a related video about the fourth game to be presented at Developer_Direct 2025. He mentioned a new Ninja Gaiden game from Koei Tecmo, a Persona 4 Remake, a Final Fantasy XI Remake, or a new Tales of game from Square Enix. [2025-01-21]: Developer_Direct 2025 has been made available for viewing on almost all platforms, at least according to the latest Xbox Division post. In addition to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and Steam, the show will even be available to watch on the Chinese platform Bilibili, with subtitles in your own language (26 languages in total are promised). | [Source: Xbox]
[2025-01-23]: At the Developer_Direct 2025 show, the promised games were presented. The event started with the mysterious fourth game, which is none other than the previously rumoured new Ninja Gaiden game from Koei Tecmo. In addition to the reveal of Ninja Gaiden 4 (expected release this fall), Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is also coming, or rather has arrived, as it is available today for Xbox Series X/S and PC, as well as Game Pass.
In order of release, we've also seen the following games finally get a release date: South of Midnight (8 April 2025), Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (24 April 2025) and finally DOOM: The Dark Ages (15 May 2025).
