Wholesome Games is driven by the core values of finding and sharing games that are artistically driven, inclusive, sensitive, and emotionally resonant, in one word: "wholesome". Organised by them, this year - 2025 - will be the fifth edition of Wholesome Direct, which this year supported Point of Pride, an independent non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and saving trans lives through access to gender affirming care.
Since its launch in 2020, Wholesome Direct has set a number of honourable milestones:
- showcased 375 titles to audiences worldwide,
- inspired more than 1,000,000 wishlist additions,
- raised over $200,000 for charities including Save the Children, AbleGamers, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, and the International Rescue Committee.
Matthew Taylor (co-founder), Jenny Windom (host and community organizer), James Tillman (co-founder) and Victoria Tran (community organizer) worked tirelessly to make the showcase happen again this year.
This year's Wholesome Direct was no short of announcements: the cozy puzzler Is This Seat Taken? was unveiled, due out in August, the dioarama sim MakeRoom was announced for August 7th, and Fishbowl was announced in partnership with imissmyfriends.studio.
