On 6 June 2025: At the Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase, a video game version of the tabletop RPG of the same name was announced. It is an action-RPG game set in the Nickelodeon universe, which will be released on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on 30 September 2025, for $49.99. At the same time, the first character was revealed, none other than everyone's favorite SpongeBob SquarePants. 12
On 7 and 11 June 2025: Although we already knew that SpongeBob SquarePants would be a playable character when the game was announced, the official reveal has just been made: we've been given gameplay footage and can now learn about his abilities. 3
SpongeBob SquarePants - Abilities
Bubble Blast – A ranged attack where SpongeBob blows a giant bubble to inflict attack damage to enemies in its bubbly path.
Goofy Goober! – SpongeBob sports his wizard costume and elevates above the battlefield while blasting 360 degrees with his guitar to inflict ranged damage.
Kah-Rah-Tay! – SpongeBob performs a spinning 360 attack while wearing his Kah-Rah-Tay gloves to deal martial-arts style attack damage.
Ol' Reliable – SpongeBob bashes enemies with his trusty jellyfish net, “Ol’ Reliable”, in a forward attack to inflict damage on his adversaries.
Pretty Patty – SpongeBob eats a Pretty Patty for healing power to restore his health.
Shield Bash – A shield attack that can be charged. The shield blocks damage while SpongeBob charges the bash attack. It then deals attack damage on release, pushing enemies back.
Order Up! Combo – SpongeBob swings his spatula like a sword. String attacks together into a triple-attack spatula combo that deals attack damage. Also recovers his mana.
On 17 June 2025: The game's newest playable character has been introduced, none other than Leonardo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, whose abilities we can learn about and see in action in gameplay scenes. 4
Leonardo - Abilities
Counter Stance – Leo assumes a defensive stance with crossed katanas. If struck by an enemy, he instantly responds with a 360-degree counterattack, delivering critical damage in all directions.
Crescent Blade – With a single swing, Leo hurls a crescent-shaped wave of sword energy that cuts through foes at range.
Dual Strike – Leo charges a swing of his katanas and unleashes them as he launches forward in a dual sword attack, dealing attack damage to enemies in his path. This is a directional attack.
Flying Kick – Leo leaps in the air and delivers a swift, forward flying kick, striking all enemies in his path and dealing attack damage and knocking them back with solid impact.
Katana Slash – Leo delivers a powerful triple-strike sword combo with his katana, slicing through nearby enemies and dealing attack damage. Each strike helps restore a bit of mana.
Turtle Tornado – Shell, steel, and spinning speed. Leo spins with blades outstretched, striking all enemies around him and dealing solid attack damage.
Zen State of Mind – Leo channels inner calm into pure offense, boosting his attacks for 12 seconds and unleashing energy slashes with every strike.
On 25 June 2025: The latest playable character from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Katara, has been introduced. Her abilities have been revealed, which we can see in action thanks to the trailer. 5
Katara - Abilities
Water Whip – With a snap of her wrist, Katara lashes out a serpent-like whip of water. Striking true restores her mana and leaves behind a slick puddle that speeds up allies and bogs down enemies.
Water Wave – Katara commands a towering wave to surge forward, crashing into enemies with the full force of the ocean and both pushes enemies back, and deals damage.
Ice Pillar – She raises a towering pillar of ice that, when struck, launches spinning frost discs that deal damage to enemies in every direction.
Healing Pool – Katara summons a soothing spring beneath her feet, bathing allies in restorative waters that steadily mend their wounds.
Frozen Rain Barrage – She conjures a burst of glacial energy that rains frozen shards ahead, striking enemies with an unforgiving storm of ice.
Frozen Prison – Katara traps the battlefield in frost, freezing puddles and foes alike in a chilling snare that deals damage and halts their advance.
Focus – Katara centers her spirit in a deep waterbending stance, restoring mana and forming a protective current that reduces incoming damage.
