On 2 April 2025: Street Fighter 6 will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2, announced at the recent Nintendo Direct, with some major exclusive features. It will be released on the console's launch date, 5 June 2025.
New Modes and Features for Every Fighter:
Local Wireless Match – One on One brings all of your favorite Street Fighter 6 characters to the forefront for serious bouts against any rival via Local Wireless mode! Challenge your friends who also have the Nintendo Switch 2 and test your skills in epic showdowns.
Local Avatar Match – Bring your personalized fighter to life in Avatar Matches, newly added in Local Wireless mode. Play as your custom avatar from World Tour and use newly acquired moves you’ve learned during your journey.
Fun, Unique Ways to Battle with Friends:
Tabletop Mode – Share the excitement with friends using the Joy-Con and enjoy Street Fighter 6 in tabletop mode. Classic, Modern, and Dynamic control types have been configured for the Joy-Con 2, making it a perfect opportunity to battle it out anywhere.
Gyro Battle – Get ready to shake things up with Gyro Battles. Using the Joy-Cons, two players can battle it out using dynamic motion controls, all while following the same rules as one-on-one matches.
Calorie Contest – Step up your game in the Street Fighter 6 Calorie Contest Mode! This unique and fun twist enables players to use their Joy-Cons to perform various actions, such as landing attacks and performing Super Arts that will build up Calorie Gauges. It’s a contest that challenges both your strength and endurance!
Collectible amiibo and amiibo Cards
New amiibo Figures and Cards – Street Fighter 6 will be releasing collectable amiibo figures of fan-favorite characters Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly, available at launch alongside the release of the Nintendo Switch 2. You can also grab collectible amiibo cards with the Starter Pack featuring all 22 characters from Street Fighter 6 through Year 1. Booster packs will also be available in the future, with new characters and designs. These amiibo figures and cards can be loaded into the game, unlocking exclusive in-game content.
Customizable amiibo Figures and Cards – Take customization to the next level with amiibo interactions. Customize and save your character’s outfit and button settings to the amiibo figures/cards and load them immediately into the game. You can also use the Ryu and Ken amiibo figures from Super Smash Bros. for even more fun.
Rewards – Each figure and card you collect, including the Ryu and Ken amiibo figures from Super Smash Bros., unlocks a range of exclusive rewards. For both amiibo figures and cards, you will receive character-specific device wallpapers and photo frames. Furthermore, amiibo figure owners will also receive exclusive BGM, Device Wallpaper, and Photo Frame!
It was also announced that the Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition will be available on June 5, 2025, across all platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and the new Nintendo Switch 2. This edition includes the characters and stages released through Years 1 & 2, making it a total of 26 characters including their Outfit 1, Colors 3-10, and 20 stages. Standard Edition is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2! 12
On 6 June 2025: The latest trailer for the game was unveiled at the Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase, in which professional wrestler Kenny Omega introduces the Year 3 Characters, who, according to the official description, will be as follows:

Alex (Winter 2025) will perform his high-flying grappling takedowns under the bright lights later this year in Street Fighter 6! Returning from Street Fighter™ V, this fan-favourite character climbs through the ropes in winter 2025.
Don’t be fooled by the look of Ingrid (Spring 2026)! An extremely powerful and mysterious being, Ingrid can match up to any opponent and will shine her sunlight upon the remaining Street Fighter 6 characters next spring!
