On 6 June 2025: The latest trailer for the game was unveiled at the Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase, giving fans of the series a long-awaited date: June 19, when the game will exit early access. The full 1.0 version will feature graphical improvements and significant gameplay features.
Interestingly, the game, which has been in development for 10 years, has undergone 258 updates since its launch in Early Access.

"New for the 1.0 update, players can look forward to a full map rework, including a major graphical overhaul that improves the game’s visual quality and performance, allowing for more immersive environments and a fully-optimised gameplay experience.

Also coming at 1.0, armed NPCs will provide a new threat – and potential reward – to survivors, engaging hostiles at range and providing opportunities for players to scavenge additional loot. New and returning vehicles, including the Seaplane, Tractor and Sports Bike, give players additional methods to traverse the island and escape conflict, while major improvements to anti-cheat will provide a fair and improved game experience for all players." ¹
