Mad King Redemption Demo Available Now at the Steam Next Fest

Fight for a fallen kingdom in a dark fantasy adventure which blends classic combat with modern mechanics

BERLIN, Germany –October 13, 2025– Indie game developer SECRET MISSION has announced that the demo version of Mad King Redemption is available now in the context of the Steam Next Fest until October 20. The full game will be released in Early Access on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Xbox in Q1 2026, with localization planned for 17 languages at launch.

Mad King Redemption is a dark and intense beat’em’up roguelite where the Kingdom has fallen under the rule of a mad monarch who, in his desperate attempt to resurrect the queen through forbidden magic, has lost his sanity and doomed his realm. Players must battle through hordes of enemies, combining raw brawler combat with strategic roguelite elements to restore balance. Each victory brings opportunities to strengthen a brotherhood of heroes, unlocking new skills, artifacts, and warriors to aid in the fight for redemption.

Inspired by classic beat’em’up games, Mad King Redemption blends nostalgic, old-school combat with modern 3D mechanics. Players can choose from four distinct heroes, each with a unique fighting style, customizable stats, and a deeply personal story. Every hero has sinned—and only through battle can they seek redemption. The game delivers fluid combat, tight controls, and a satisfying sense of progression that pays homage to the genre’s roots while pushing it forward.

With roguelite progression, no two runs are the same. Each journey into the cursed cloister offers randomized challenges, new abilities, and dangerous opportunities to draw power from the Mad King himself—at a cost. Every decision shapes the path to salvation or ruin, as players fight to end the King’s madness once and for all.

SECRET MISSION is a team of three gaming industry veterans with Italian roots, located in Berlin.
