On 6 June 2025: The latest trailer for the game was unveiled at the Summer Game Fest 2025 Showcase, where we learned that the game, which will be released on July 22, will have a cross-platform open beta that will run from June 9 to 16. The test version will feature two new prospectors, additional points of interest for explorers to plunder throughout the Reach, reworked daily missions, and more.

"Kae and Adrian join the Reach as playable prospectors beginning June 9 for the open beta, giving players more options to synergize with crewmates and navigate cosmic hazards. Kae wields mysterious powers, enabling her to telekinetically manipulate objects from afar and warp jump over an impressive distance. With his jet pack, Adrian’s hit-and-run tactics enable him to get to and from locations in a pinch.

Open beta players can explore The Refiner, The Drill Station, and The Juggernaut — three new points of interest offering even more locations to explore. Players can also look forward to additional daily missions, a revamped mission system, performance enhancements, a redesigned user interface, and other quality-of-life improvements.
